Angry Win Antivir 2008
sometime in the past week I have picked up this program and I cant get it off my computer. Its becoming a nuisance because it keeps popping up at all times when I'm using my computer either on or off line. Basically they are asking for money to buy their program. I am using Windows ME and I have tried to get rid of this "thing" by using my " add / remove programs " on the " control panel " in settings . but Win Antivir 2008 is not shown on there. Can any body help or advise please. I'm worried that this thing might start to screw my computer up.

Unhappy Re: Win Antivir 2008
Hi Ferret.
Just downloaded "Malwarebytes" but unfortunatly I got the message "Needs Windows NT 4.0 or later" so I am back to square 1 . I am using Windows ME which is obviously 8 years old but for a 70 year old pensioner it does the job Sorry to be a pain in the butt , but any orther ideas or advice.?:

TX Bob.

OK ... here is the manual removal instructions for a ME machine

http://www.spywareremove.com/securit...-instructions/

You may notice that this instructions are for the 2007 version. But just ensure that the files are the 2008 ones and it should work.

It is a time consuming process to do a manual remove. Best print out the instructions on the web page first.

If the manual removal looks a bit complicated try downloading and updating rogueremover; http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php it should be compatible.
Download and update superantispyware; http://www.superantispyware.com/ ,hopefully will run on ME.
Try running both in safe mode, rogueremover first.
